The Cancer Surgery Department specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of cancer, providing personalized care for each patient.

Cancer diagnosis and staging:

  • Performing biopsies to obtain tissue samples for analysis
  • Conducting imaging tests (CT scans, MRI, PET scans) to determine the extent of cancer

Surgical removal of tumors:

  • Curative surgery: Aiming to completely remove the cancer
  • Cytoreductive surgery: Reducing the size of the tumor to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy or radiation
  • Debulking surgery: Removing as much of the tumor as possible to relieve symptoms

Reconstructive surgery:

  • Rebuilding body parts that have been removed during cancer surgery (e.g., breast reconstruction after mastectomy)

Minimally invasive surgery:

  • Laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery offering smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery

Palliative care:

  • Surgical procedures aimed at relieving pain and improving the quality of life for patients with advanced cancer

Multidisciplinary care:

  • Collaboration with specialists such as medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists to develop the optimal treatment plan for each patient
